What we offer in Kalamazoo
Wheelchair accessible vans
Our Kalamazoo store serves southwest Michigan and customers from Indiana. The team compares new and used BraunAbility and VMI side-entry and rear-entry minivans with you and sets up a test drive. We accept trade-ins (see the trade-in page) and can deliver your van to your home or to the store. See current stock on the wheelchair van inventory page; lease and finance offers change monthly, so ask for current terms.
Wheelchair van rentals
The Kalamazoo store is one of our four rental pickup locations. Choose a rear-entry or side-entry minivan or a full-size van for a day, a week, a month or longer; delivery to an agreed location is available for an added fee. Scooters and portable ramps can be rented too, which helps for a trip to the Air Zoo or the Kalamazoo Valley Museum. Request a quote on the wheelchair van rentals page.
Wheelchair van service
The Kalamazoo service team handles preventative maintenance and repair on wheelchair accessible vehicles, whatever the conversion: BraunAbility, VMI or other. The service bay keeps the same hours as the store, Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with Saturday by appointment. Book on the service page or call (269) 903-2813 and tell us the conversion type and what you are noticing so we can plan the visit.
Scooter and wheelchair lifts for your vehicle
If you prefer to keep your current car, SUV or truck, a vehicle lift carries your scooter or power wheelchair for you. The Kalamazoo store sells and installs all Bruno and Harmar lift types, including hitch-mounted and inside-the-vehicle models. We check the vehicle, the device and how you load it before recommending one. The vehicle lifts and equipment page explains the types; the store arranges the fitting.
AccessATop truck cap and lift
AccessATop is an automatic truck cap that raises to load a wheelchair or scooter into the bed of a full-size pickup and keeps it dry on the road. It fits many GM, Ford, Ram and Toyota trucks and can be paired with a Braun Turny seat. The Kalamazoo store sells and installs AccessATop for truck owners across the area. Check the truck applications and bed-length notes on the AccessATop page before you call.
Stairlifts
The Kalamazoo store sells and installs Bruno stairlifts for straight, curved and outdoor stairs, with Bruno Certified installers. We come to your home to measure, explain rail and seat choices, and give a written quote before anything is ordered. The stairlifts page describes the Bruno Elan and Elite models and lists price guidance (straight from around $3,500; curved around $10,000).
Home accessibility
The store sells and installs ramps and Bruno vertical platform lifts for porches and decks, and sells lift chairs. Bathroom modifications and home elevators are also available; they are a smaller part of our work, so describe what you need and we will say what is possible. See the stairlifts and lift chairs pages, or call the store about ramps and platform lifts.
Permobil power wheelchairs: enquiries welcome
We do not stock Permobil chairs at any store; each chair is ordered to your specification after a seating evaluation with our ATP, who is based in Grand Rapids, and Permobil service is done there too. Contact the Kalamazoo store first and we will take your details and set up the next step. Read about the models and repairs on the Permobil power wheelchairs page.
Paying for your equipment
We work with the VA process for eligible veterans, and we offer financing through BraunAbility Finance; current terms are on the financing page and come from BraunAbility’s website. We accept third-party payment. Clock Mobility is not accredited for commercial medical insurance, Medicare, or Medicaid. We do work with insurance companies on auto-accident and other third-party claims; ask the store how that applies to you.
Service area
We serve Portage, Oshtemo, Comstock, Parchment, Richland, Galesburg, Vicksburg, Schoolcraft, Plainwell, Otsego and Paw Paw.

Frequently asked questions
How do I get to the Kalamazoo store in Portage?
The store is at 5401 Portage Rd, Suite 2B, Portage, MI 49002, on Portage Road south of I-94; Suite 2B is in the center of the building. Open it in Google Maps for turn-by-turn directions.
Is the Kalamazoo store’s entrance wheelchair accessible?
The Kalamazoo store at 5401 Portage Rd has accessible parking and an accessible entrance, as do all four Clock Mobility stores.
Do you measure stairs in Kalamazoo, Oshtemo and Plainwell homes before quoting?
Yes. A stairlift, ramp or vertical platform lift quote starts with a visit to your home so the installer can measure and see the space. The Kalamazoo store covers Kalamazoo, Portage, Oshtemo, Plainwell and the rest of its service area. Call (269) 903-2813 to arrange it.
My Permobil wheelchair needs repair and I am in the Kalamazoo area. What should I do?
Call the Kalamazoo store at (269) 903-2813. Permobil repairs and seating evaluations are done at our Grand Rapids shop, and the Kalamazoo team will explain how to get the chair there and what to expect.
Why does my rental confirmation say Portage when I chose Kalamazoo?
Because the Kalamazoo store’s street address is 5401 Portage Rd, Suite 2B, Portage, MI 49002. “Kalamazoo, MI” on the rental request form and this Portage address are the same store. Delivery to an agreed location is also available for an added fee.
Can I drop my wheelchair van off for service before 8:00 am?
Store and service bay hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with Saturday by appointment. If you need an early drop-off, call (269) 903-2813 when you book on the service page and the store will tell you what it can arrange. Diagnostic turnaround is usually one business day, and routine maintenance is done the same day unless the store tells you otherwise when it books the visit.
