Wheelchair accessible vans
For our friends in northern Michigan, the Traverse City sales team helps you compare new and used BraunAbility and VMI side-entry and rear-entry minivans and arrange a test drive, so you do not have to travel downstate. We accept trade-ins (see the trade-in page) and can deliver your van to your home or to the store. Wheelchair van rentals
Traverse City is one of our four rental pickup locations and the one closest to the lakes, the vineyards and the National Cherry Festival in July. Choose a rear-entry or side-entry minivan or a full-size van for a day, a week, a month or longer; delivery to an agreed location is available for an added fee. Wheelchair van service
The Traverse City service team performs preventative maintenance and repair on wheelchair accessible vehicles, whatever the conversion: BraunAbility, VMI or other. The service bay keeps the same hours as the store, Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with Saturday by appointment, so northern Michigan owners do not have to drive to Grand Rapids for routine work. Scooter and wheelchair lifts for your vehicle
A vehicle lift carries your scooter or power wheelchair in the car, SUV or truck you already own. The Traverse City store sells and installs all Bruno and Harmar lift types, including hitch-mounted and inside-the-vehicle models. AccessATop truck cap and lift
AccessATop is an automatic truck cap that raises to load a wheelchair or scooter into the bed of a full-size pickup and keeps it dry on the road, which matters in a northern Michigan winter. It fits many GM, Ford, Ram and Toyota trucks and can be paired with a Braun Turny seat. The Traverse City store sells and installs it. Stairlifts
The Traverse City store sells and installs Bruno stairlifts for straight, curved and outdoor stairs, with Bruno Certified installers. We come to your home to measure, explain rail and seat choices, and give a written quote before anything is ordered. Home accessibility
To make the front door and porch easier to manage, Traverse City sells and installs ramps and Bruno vertical platform lifts, and sells lift chairs. Bathroom modifications and home elevators are also available; they are a smaller part of our work, so tell the store what you need and we will say whether we can help. Permobil power wheelchairs: enquiries welcome
We do not stock Permobil chairs at any store; each chair is ordered to your specification after a seating evaluation with our ATP, who is based in Grand Rapids, and Permobil service is done there too. Paying for your equipment
We work with the VA process for eligible veterans, and we offer financing through BraunAbility Finance; current terms are on the financing page and come from BraunAbility’s website. We accept third-party payment. Clock Mobility is not accredited for commercial medical insurance, Medicare, or Medicaid. We do work with insurance companies on auto-accident and other third-party claims; ask the store how that applies to you.

Is there Permobil service in northern Michigan, or do I need to go downstate?
Permobil seating evaluations and repairs are done at our Grand Rapids shop, where our ATP is based. For northern Michigan customers we schedule coordinated Permobil service days in Traverse City, grouping several customers on one visit, so call Traverse City first at (231) 943-9890 and the team will put you on the next one or help plan a trip to Grand Rapids. Parts such as motors, actuators and electronics come from the manufacturer, so repairs that need parts take a second visit; we do not have service loaner chairs.
Can I rent a wheelchair van in Traverse City for the Cherry Festival week?
Yes, Traverse City is a rental pickup location and rentals run from a day to a month or longer. Festival week is busy, so submit the rental request form early with your dates and vehicle type, and the store will confirm availability and a quote.
Does the Traverse City service team work on winter-related ramp and kneeling problems?
Yes. The service team does preventative maintenance and repair on wheelchair accessible vehicles, including ramp, door and kneeling-system issues that show up after salt and cold.
